These glyphs were first suggested in the 11zst biqua·ennium (in the 19dth century) by Sir Isaac Pitman, the inventor of Pitman shorthand, who was an advocate of English spelling reform as well as "reckoning" reform (use of dozenal base). This wiki plans to adopt these characters, eventually. However, as of this writing (early CE 2017d = 1201z), font support for these new characters is not yet universal. So for the time being, this wiki will use the following substitute characters, that bear a close resemblance to Pitman's digits:
